Hi, guys. Hope you are having a wonderful day. After the success of the Vivera steak (of which I have had a few more since my review) I thought I'd try something else from my local Tesco and came home with the Vivera Bacon Pieces.

So, I've never been overly keen on sausages and burgers have never been a go-to, yet bacon has always been on my mind when I've thought about giving up meat. It's not that I'm a HUUUUGE bacon fan but I've always liked the flavour. It's one of the few meats I can tolerate on a pizza and who doesn't like a bacon sandwich? What I didn't like about bacon was the fat. Bleurgh. Whenever I had bacon I would always end up with chewy or slimy fat between my teeth. When I saw these I held out a little hope that maybe this would be bacon without the bad. I fried it for about 4 minutes and the smell was pleasant. I put some spread on my bread, ready for a bacon butty and put some of the pieces inside, and some to try on their own.

Now, I don't want you to think that I am being sponsored by Vivera but...WOW!! Again, I'm not here to convince you by saying 'you will never know the difference', but I will say that you probably won't care. The texture is firm and chewy like bacon, holds it's texture whilst chewing and has a delicious, smoky, salty flavour and, best of all, no nasty fat!! This was £2.50 from Tesco (seriously, if you are looking for a wide range of things to try and choose from, Tesco should be your first stop) and this will become a staple for me. Another good thing about this? You don't have to worry about under-cooking it. There is no downside to replacing bacon with this. Try it, it's incredible and I'm already thinking of having a toasted 'fake-on' sandwich tomorrow. This gets another 9/10. Vivera are doing very well for me so far and now I'm even more keen to try more of their products. If I'm lucky, maybe they will sponsor me because, really, I could do with the money. But, until then, I guess I'll have to buy all of their products. Worth it though.

Thanks for reading,

MLV
