Hello. Welcome to my first review. As I said before, my first experience with a vegan cheese was...disappointing. Yet, here I am, looking to try again. I picked this one as it looked nicely packaged and maybe being in slices it would be better than the weird block I'd had before.

To hold, it's not dissimilar to an edam slice. It's not as shiny as swiss cheese but smells like a cheese, close to cheddar.

Does anyone remember the Dairylea strip cheese? That's what the texture is like. Not as rubbery as a Cheesestring but I reckon that, within a sandwich, I wouldn't notice it wasn't real cheese. A little later on, I did just that an

d was pleasantly surprised. As a slice of cheese, it works. I won't lie and say it tastes exactly the same as sliced cheeses that I've had before, but it's different in the way an edam slice is different from gouda or swiss cheese. It has a slightly different flavour and texture but would still easily fall into the cheese category.

It maybe hasty to give such a good review on this as it is my first, but I am going to give this a solid 9/10. It tastes nice, the texture works well and I would easily be able to replace any sliced cheese i had in my diet with this without feeling like I was going for second best. It loses a point on it's price point. This was £2.50 from Tesco with 10 slices. You can get far cheaper sliced cheese but I don't have it often enough to feel it would be an issue. The problem of healthier/alternative foods being more pricey than their unhealthy counterparts is an issue but not one I really want to get into and not one I really want to use in my reviews, however, if you were a sliced-cheese regular, you may feel the hit.

In a nutshell, I think this is a great substitute and would highly recommend you give it a try.

Thanks for reading,

MLV
